People think extroverts are the life of the party, while introverts are shy and reserved. However, being an introvert we bring things to the table of any party which is critical to it being memorable and these are often overlooked.

Why …

Because we introverts tend to have a bigger and more expansive inner world. There is a thirst for knowledge and information that can be brain bombs in any party setting.

We are great listeners, and being curious people tend to ask more questions about others' experiences and stories at parties, this is fuel for connectivity fires amongst people who don't know each other. It’s about WE, not ME

Even though we are not afraid to say NO to social invitations if we are not feeling up to it, we also are not afraid to say YES when we feel like pushing ourselves and doing something new.

In these social settings when we do attend and the conversation is electrified we do speak our minds when we disagree with someone. Not sure why, maybe we try and maintain a sense of self and avoid getting caught up in the opinions of others.

I have some questions though, do people gravitate to Introverts at events because we might be empathetic? Are we good at reading the emotions of others?

Do we provide good advice and providing support because we have a lot of self-searching and introspection, and are able to understand the other person’s perspective and offer words of wisdom or encouragement?

Do we become engaging because in a conversation we tune out distractions at the party and focus on the person, and their story?

Whatever the answer is , we are aware of our emotional state and we can take care of ourselves in social situations

Being an introvert has its own set of benefits that are often overlooked, we are able to navigate the world in our own unique way and make valuable contributions to social situations
